Today is day 54 of my 90 Cards in 90 Days. Before this post, I had 49 cards posted that I personally made. I also have posted at least two 3d projects and several swap cards I received. It has been fun trying to think of a new card or idea, and though I haven't done it everyday, it has been a great way for me to have some "Roe time".

Marty will be back to work on Monday, so things around here should go back to normal, or at least as normal as can be.

A Girl Scout Card

On Thursday, Carol Smith's girl scout troop is making birth announcements to donate to a hospital for mothers who can not afford them. I was tasked with designing a boy announcement, as well as a girl one and then teaching them at their girl scout meeting. The girls are between 5th and 8th grade, so I wanted it to be simple enough, yet cute. Here is a look at what I came up with for the boy announcement.

Took some time for me today!

Well many of you know that this past weekend my husband had his appendix removed. I spent the entire weekend at the hospital and then all this week caring for him and trying to keep up with Steven, who has decided he likes staying up late and taking short naps. Today, I decided to take some time for me and invited my aunt over to stamp with me. Steven slept for part of it and crawled under our feet for a little while, but it was nice to have a break. Hopefully Marty starts feeling better soon and things go back to normal.

Tomorrow I have about five ladies coming over to stamp, stamp, stamp! They are making 75 invitations for an anniversary party. I am really looking forward to that!
My aunt needed a belated birthday card for a 17 year old boy, so here is what I came up with real quick.

A Birthday Invitation, a Post-it Holder, and an Easter Card

On Friday Marty came home from work saying he had a tummy ache. His "tummy ache" led to spending the next 42 hours in the hospital with appendicitis. It was scary for awhile, and crazy hectic trying to take care of him, my 11 month old son, and my yellow lab, but thankfully both grandmas stepped up to the plate and helped me out big time. Needless to say, no stamping got done, and with my hubby off work all week, my 11 month old upset cause daddy can't hold him, and me completely exhausted I don't know if I will have a lot of posts this week. I promise to catch up later. Here are a couple I made at the end of last week.

This is a post-it holder and pen I made for some of my up-and-coming craft shows. I have four within the next couple months. I used Melon Mambo, Always Artichoke, and Whisper White. The stamp sets are Inspired by Nature and the newest butterfly stamp (the name has slipped my mind). I used Stampin' Dimensionals to raise the butterfly and added some rhinestones to make it pop.

My baby boy will be a year old in a couple weeks. I can't believe it! Here is his birthday invite. I used the Party This Way, Introducing, and Big Bold Birthday Stamp Sets. Tangerine Tango, Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, Wild Wasabi, and Whisper White make up the card. I used Stampin' Dimensionals to raise the arrow up and the Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder.

The last card for today is an Easter Card I made for the monthly swap I participate in. I cased it from the catalog. I used the Easter Beauty stamp set.

Sesame Street

Who doesn't love Sesame Street? I am sure at one time or another all of us could send the theme song. Can you tell me how to get, how to get to Sesame Street? My niece is all about Elmo now, and I look forward to the day Steven will attach himself to one character or another. For me, it was always Snuffleupagus! Who did you like?

For today's cards I present Cookie Monster and Elmo! At least I tried to recreate them. These cards use the Scallop Circle Die Cut, 2-1/2, 1-1/4, and 3/4 Circle Punches. Cookie Monster is Pacific Point and the cookie is Crumb Cake with Chocolate Chip of course. Elmo is Real Red and his nose is Pumpkin Pie.

Pay It Forward Stampin' Up! Style

I saw this on the Stampin' Up! webpage today and thought this was really neat. I am going to try to get at least a couple sets done. Would you like to make some? If you are please let me know. If you want to make them but don't have the supplies, come on over to my house and use mine.

I live in a rural part of Arizona, and work at a community hospital that services about 8-10 rural communities. We have alot of births at our Maternity Center and thought about doing a card charity project for the new moms. Many of these moms can't afford birth announcements to help celebrate the birth of their child or children (if multiple birth). I had spoken with the Nurse Manager of the Maternity Center about this and she thought it was a wonderful idea, stating that so many families can't afford such a thing.

I want to give birth announcements for the new moms in a gift set of 10 that they can mail out to friends and family. Instead of doing something for ourselves, lets do something for others and pay it forward. Share our love for our products and do something nice for someone else. So here's what I was thinking:

Make either TEN (10) ALL BOY or TEN (10) ALL GIRL birth announcements WITH Envelopes (SU! PRODUCTS ONLY - ENVELOPES CAN BE GENERIC) identical FULL Cards (5 ½” x 4 ¼”) and send them to me by the last day of February to be presented to the Nurse Manager and CEO of the hospital as a gift to new moms. I'd like to present these by March 14th.

Use at least 2 layers and make it pretty with a couple of SU! Embellishments. PLEASE MAKE THESE DEMO QUALITY! - YOU SHOULD BE PROUD OF YOUR WORK! Make these mom's say "Wow! These were made for me?!?!?!"

Inside the cards, use standard wording (YOU CAN USE STAMPS OR MICROSOFT WORD FOR THIS):

Announcing the birth of our son/daughter (depending on whether you are making boy or girl cards)

Name:
Date:
Time:
Weight:
Length:

Parents:

You can attach to the back of cards the following:

Your Name
Your SU! Title
City and State that you are from

Bind the cards and envelopes together as a set using a 1 1/2" strip of our card stock wrapped around the middle of the bundle. and create a tag for the front of the strip stating: For the New Mom!

With your help, I'd like to present the Maternity Center with about 200 sets of Birth Announcements, 100 sets of boy announcements and 100 sets of girl announcements. When presented I would present a framed list with the Names and City and State of all Demos who made the presentation possible, as I wouldn't be able to pull this off without all of you fabulous ladies. Please help me make this possible for lots of moms :)

Getting ready for Swaps

I am sorry for the lack of posts. Steven is cutting four teeth at once and he hasn't been sleeping well, which means I haven't gotten much sleep. The past two days when he has gone down for a nap so have I. I did find some time to complete a couple sets of cards for four swaps I am participating in. I love swaps! If you are unfamiliar with the term you make so many cards of one card, usually it is between 6-8. Then you send it to the host and they inturn exchange everyone's cards and you get that many cards back, all different. I get a lot of ideas and such by participating in them. Today I will post two of the cards I made for my swaps , as well as, two I received from a swap.
You probably recognize this card. I posted it a month or so ago using baja breeze and basic black. I decided to switch it up a bit and go with the much loved mixture of chocolate chip and pretty in pink. This card is for a Women's Birthday Swap.
This card is for a Children's Birthday Swap. It used the stamp set Greetings, Earthling. I thought about adding some glitter to the bellies of the aliens to add a little pizzazz, but didn't know if I would like it. What do you think?
One of the swaps I participate in is actually once a month for the 2011 year. Each month we are assigned three themes and we can make our cards whichever theme we want. January was thank you, St. Patricks's Day, or a birthday.

The first card was made by Deb Lippert. I so love the Upsy Daisy stamp set.

The last card for today was made by Anjanette Potter.

Valentine's Day Card

I can't believe that Monday is Valentine's Day already. I remember thinking in August that I didn't know if I would be able to handle staying home and not teaching this year. I thought the house would be immaculate cause I would not have a whole lot better to do than entertain Steven and clean, occasionally scrap. Well guess what! The house is a mess. I probably have five loads of laundry that need to be done. The sheets on all the beds need to be changed and the bathrooms could use being scrubbed. But guess what I am doing? Lounging around. Steven hasn't been sleeping very well which means no one has been sleeping well. My plan was to nap when he napped today but I just couldn't fall asleep. I made one card then vegged in front of the tv.
Here is my card for today.

Playing Around at Night

Well for once Steven went to bed at a reasonable time (8:30) which means that here in the next 30 minutes or so he will be up. Marty is sick on the couch watching home improvement shows learning new things which he will probably never use, so I snuck off to my stamp room.

The first card is a quick little 3 x 3 card I made. It took me under five minutes to make which is always nice when you want to mass produce them. Maybe I will do that tomorrow!

Trying to Get Caught Up

Steven woke up at 6:45 this morning so at 8:50 when he was ready to take a nap I was ready! I quickly emptied the dishwasher, which I have been avoiding doing for the past two days, started a load of laundry, and went into my stamp room. I got four cards done before he woke up! Now he is down for a short afternoon snooze so I had a minute to get them posted.

Extreme Guitar and MDS

So I have always admired the extreme stamp sets that are available, but the 9.95 each price has always turned me off. My Digital Studio recently came out with the image downloads for .95 each which totally excited me. I downloaded it, added the words (typed them out), printed them out, and then attached it to the card. My husband said he could tell it was printed because you can never stamp that good, but I don't think it looks too bad.

Snowed In and Stamping!

My neighbor has been working on plowing us out with a large tractor and plow for the past 2-1/2 hours. I feel bad watching him but there isn't a whole lot I can do to help, so I am making cards instead! Maybe I will give him a thank you one!
I have a very dear friend who would look at this card and say, "Wow! That is a really hard card!" She always counts the layers on my cards to decide how "hard" they are. Well, let me tell you this card took less than five minutes. I just received the Color Coach as a free gift from Stampin' Up! due my high volume of sales and don't know why I haven't ordered it before now! It is great! You select a color that you are interested in using, in this case I chose Concord Grape and it gives you three choices for color palettes that pairs up with this color. This color palette was one of the choices it gave me. Maybe later I will try the other two palettes.

Steven Got His First Tooth!

I am so sorry for the lack of posts recently. My only excuse is that I have been tired! Steven has been keeping me very busy! Last night we discovered at almost 11 months he got his first tooth! We were so happy for him. He decided he wanted to be a party animal though then and didn't go to bed until after 11:00 and only would fall asleep in Mommy's arms, so he spent the night snuggled up on the sleep number. He sure is a bed hog for such a little man! Needless to say, when he went down for a nap today so did I. Here are two cards I was able to get done before I laid down.

I am really hoping that we get snowed in here! I have no plans to go out, went grocery shopping yesterday and so I am kinda looking forward to watching the snow fall for the next two days.
I realized today that Valentine's Day is quickly approaching and I haven't made any cards for it yet so here you go.
